The rumor is boiling about Kevin Jones today. Apparently he was informed he will be officially released. The Lions apparently don’t want to wait for him to recover.
I personally STILL have high hopes for Kevin Jones. If he can stay healthy, and find a team with a decent offensive line, he can be a great asset to another team.
This is a blunder for Matt Millen. He lost the bidding war on Julius Jones, and also lost T.J. Duckett to Seattle. At least they have some sort of insurance in Tatum Bell. Perhaps this is the real reason why Tatum Bell decided to come back. Perhaps Bell knew Jones wasn’t coming back? Who knows. Tatum isn’t starting material, however, he’s serviceable. And, lest we not forget…they are supposedly going to address the running game, of which only racked up 1,288 total yards (2nd to last in the league).
I’m deeply afraid they will draft a back in the first round. No RB can do well with this poor offensive line. THEY NEED TO ADDRESS THAT LINE! (pardon my shouting)
Honestly, I have no idea what kind of plan Millen has for this team…or if there is one.
